Rune Celestine Annesley

Rune is a Change specialist. She is the best friend of Akari and Theodore's fiancée. She is the guardian of Otherworld. She was the queen of Eraklyon and student of the Laguna University for Specialists and Fairies. She is an all-rounded, talented yet arrogant specialist. She is the heroine of this story (adventure side).

1. Appearance

Rune has a light, almost pale skin tone and green eyes. She has wavy blonde hair that reaches her waist. She is usually perceived as very elegant, good looking but distant. Her dressings are usually pretty and well-designed.

2. Personality

Rune is described as a girl who is 'perfect': beautiful, gifted, polite and wealthy. Moreover, she is proud of having the superpower that the others do not have. Also, she has a tendency to show the 'perfect' side so as to be admired by the others. Sometimes, she may flex about them. Consequently, she is not likable and only has a few friends.

In the beginning, Rune was a self-centered girl. She only thought of herself. Rune found the importance of friends after she was suspected to be the one who controlled the Burnt Ones and the Ancient Army. Her friends supported her and tried to protect her, although most of them were weaker than her. She became loyal and willing to do anything to make her friends and adoptive family safe. She once hated her biological parents as they abandoned her. After knowing they died, she started to be curious about her past. Considering the feeling of her adoptive family, she never talks about her biological parents.

Rune was squeamish as she was frightened by the dirty environment and worms when she was in the mountain.

3. Ability

Rune, as an Ancestral-blooded, she is an extremely powerful specialist. She has Changing power, which can change the usages and laws of materials. She can convert materials'usage to blackhole and pull her opponents and their attack in. She can also use mirrors or doors as a gateway to connect anywhere she wants. Both of them are classified as one of the mythological powers, since they involve manipulation of time and space. The principal of Laguna mentioned that if her power gets out of control, the whole Otherworld may be destroyed.

After learning Mind power, she can do pain manipulation, telekinesis, mind manipulation and telekinetic force. She uses telekinetic force and pain manipulation as major ways of attack as she thinks they are easier to use.

She can also use Speed power after learning them in Year 3. She can move incredibly fast by Speed power.

4. Series

Childhood

Rune was born in Stargarde, where only strong-blooded lived. The king of Eraklyon was frightened of them since they were too strong.  He sent 'Burnt One' to attack them. Although most of the fairies and specialists in Stargarde can manage the attack, it was exhausted and troublesome. When she was little, her parents found out she is an Ancestral-blooded. Therefore, they decided to put hope on her, planned to train her to become the queen of Eraklyon when she grew up.

Nevertheless, the king found out an Ancestral-blooded baby was born in Stargarde. He immediately sent out a lot of 'Ancient Army', which is an evolved ‘Burnt One’. Rune's parents decided to die for Stargarde, so as to buy time for the others to escape. Before Rune's mother died, she sent Rune to the Earth to protect her. She also used her power to clear Rune's memory and told her ‘you will remember everything when you are capable.’

Rune was sent to the Earth alone, without any memory. She used her power to keep her alive unconsciously. At that time, Jasper & Charlotte were preparing for a relative's party, they realized Kate had nothing to show off. They started to panic as they were always the winner among relatives. They saw Rune outside the door, using her power to change the law of snow (from cold to warm). They knew she is extraordinary as it is very difficult for a toddler to use complex power. They wanted Rune to be their daughter as she is pretty and gifted. Therefore, they adopted Rune. Rune showed her power in the party. Kate's grandfather believed Rune was at least strong-blooded, which surprised the whole family, since the Annesley's family had lost the fairy/specialist blood so long.

As Jasper & Charlotte loved Rune more, they gave their best to Rune. Rune also fulfilled their expectation, as she was the prettiest child among all relatives. She was also the best in using power and most fashionable among relatives and friends.

Pre-series

Rune dated Louis, a handsome and popular boy in her school when she was in high school. Before she graduated, the principal came and invited her to the Laguna University for Specialists and Fairies.

Year 1

Rune got into Laguna and shared a dorm suite with Akari, Kate and Mary. She shared a room with Akari. Akari was very happy to see her and told her about her past. Although Rune did not remember anything, she believed in Akari as Rune saw a lot of evidence. Rune also learnt Ancient Army and Burned One was under the order of the king, who wanted to killed them all. She refused to admit that as she did not want to get into this affair. She only wanted to be an elite in the future.

Rune was shocked by her past and tried to mediate in the forest nearby. She met 2 Burned Ones, who keep telling her never come to Otherworld again. Rune refused and they started to fight. Rune changed the law of ‘bottle of water’ from storing to releasing. But this had no use to the Burned Ones. She jumped onto a tree by adding a usage ‘jumping high’ to her shoes. She suddenly had a brainwave and changed the law of ‘mirror’ from reflecting to locking. The Burned Ones were locked into the mirror. Meanwhile, Rune held the Burned One's voice and Theodore calling for help. Rune went and locked the remaining Burned One into the mirror and damaged it with the Burned Ones. She also saved Theodore from the Burned Ones. Rune went back to her dorm and told Akari that she would take revenge with her, as she had no other choices.

On the school opening ceremony, everyone needed to verify their attributes and bloodline using the Stone Circle. Rune verified she is an Ancestral-blooded, which surprise the whole school as she is the only Ancestral-blooded in this 100 years. Rune started her lesson and was the top in class. She also joined the Fighting Club with Akari.

Before the school picnic, Rune became acquainted with her roommates, Theodore and Nex since they formed a group the picnic. In the picnic, Theodore told Rune that he loved her. Rune told him that she did not want to date anyone before she settled down.

During an activity of Fighting Club, a troop of Ancient Armies and the Burned Ones attacked Rune and Akari as they went outside the barrier. Teachers and other students saw the troops and were frightened, but they started to fight them. In the battle, Rune took off a drain cover, and changed the law of the drain from ‘storing inside’ to ‘pulling to nowhere’. The drain worked like a black hole and pulled all of the enemies inside. The teacher of the Fighting Club told Rune that the power she used was one of the mythological powers, since the power involved manipulation of space. Rune suffered from Anemia and had to receive blood transfusion.

The news of Rune using mythological powers spread quickly. Meanwhile, an article claimed that it was impossible for Rune never harmed by the attack of a troop of Ancient Armies and the Burned Ones. It also pointed out it was hard to believe that Ancient Armies and the Burned Ones appeared again only to attack Rune, despite of the fact that they were extincted. After this article published, most of the classmates and teachers started to think Rune actually summon Ancient Armies and the Burned Ones.

Year 2

When Rune went back to Laguna, students showed their malice toward Rune. They cursed her as they believed that she brought back the Burned Ones and the Ancient Armies. Rune was very upset about their words since she had never been treated like that before. Her friends supported her.

Arrow Oak, the most possible next Guardian of Andros, was very popular in Laguna. He participated the election of student council next year, and claimed that if his group was elected, he would suggest suspension of Rune. 

In the 1^st Battle Lesson, the teacher told the students that they had to pass any route of Hidden Forest. If not, they would have to repeat year 2. Students could pass the route in a group or alone. But if less students were there, the higher the marks they could score and only the highest marks would be recorded. Mary suggested 6 of them should go together, as she was so afraid. Rune and Akari said they were willing to go with her, but they must pass 1 route alone.

Although Rune and Akari had promised to protect Mary, Mary was so afraid to go into Hidden Forest. Akari scolded Mary and Mary cried. To help the two reconcile, Kate suggested a trip to Black Beach in Andros. They met Peter there and got along well with him. Knowing Peter repeated and he could not pass any route, Nex suggested Peter to form a group with them to pass the examination.

Arrow's group was elected as the next year student council, and he raised a vote in Laguna for suspension of Rune. Akari suggested that they had no right in suspending anyone as they were just student council, but was mocked by Arrow. Akari then attacked Arrow, Arrow fought back. The two brought damage to the school building and both of them hurt. Rune was furious and declared battle on Arrow. Arrow asked her to pass the Hidden Forest route 1, which no one had been able to pass. If she passed route 1, he would be willing to apologize to Akari.

Akari and Theodore insisted to go to Route 1 with Rune. Kate suggested Mary, Nex, Peter and her could form a group and try to pass Route 20 by themselves, so as to lessen Rune's burden. Rune, Akari and Theodore were doing well in Route 1. However, other than the dragon in Final Battle, they also met a group of Ancient Army. They were fierce. Rune, Akari and Theodore could only escape from them. Rune got overconfident. She found an opportunity to use a cellphone to take a photo so as to lock all the Ancient Army. She thought she had killed all of them. But some had escaped and attacked Theodore. Theodore was hurt badly. As all of ancient army were escaped, Rune could not find any of them while Theodore's wound was worsening since the ancient army was not caught. Rune's power went out of control and the tools in Laguna became offensive, i.e., bottle exploding, umbrella shooting etc. Akari and Theodore tried to calm her down. Meanwhile, Arrow used his power to find the Ancient Army and killed it, which cured Theodore. Rune blacked out after calm down.

After the incident, Arrow apologized in a speech as he saw Rune did not have the power to control Ancient Army. Therefore, she went out of control when her friend was hurt. Also, she was too strong and did not need to summon Ancient Army. Most of the people believed Arrow and apologized to Rune. Before the summer vacation, Arrow went to Rune's dorm and told her that they were alliance. He was a descendant of Stargarde.
